MultiChoice Uganda through the DStv platform have signed a partnership with Uganda Telecom’s mobile payment facility, M-Sente to enable DStv subscribers pay their monthly subscription using the system.
UTL and DStv customers will now eliminate the burden of long queues at Service points and other points of sale and can instead make payments using their mobile phones at their convenience from anywhere and anytime.
The announcement of the partnership was made to the media at MultiChoice Uganda head office in Kampala.
General Manager of MultiChoice Uganda Mr. Charles Hamya said, “This partnership is crucial to us because it immediately brings into our fold a number of mutual customers that we have long shared with UTL who up and till today have not been able to pay for their DStv service using their mobile handsets. M-Sente subscribers like DStv subscribers using other mobile networks can now instantly update and reconnect their DStv service without necessarily having to call or visit any of the MultiChoice outlets.”.
DStv already has convenient self-help options for subscribers to choose from, including the customer help line, code 6060, and other operator Mobile payment platforms.
Peter Kakaire, Head of M-Sente stated that “M-Sente is an effective facility that has over 300,000 customers. Their mission as UTL is to expand the use of the facility for their customers and ensure convenience for DStv customers through digital platforms such as these.”
“We have always believed in providing affordable access. This is just one of many platforms through which we are delivering our promise. As you are aware, you can pay water bills, school fees, and a host of other payments using Msente,” he said.
DStv subscriber patterns indicate that most customers are embracing the use of their mobile phones to make payments in an ever changing environment. To make payments using Msente, simply dial *500# on your phone to access the Msente Menu, then follow the prompts.
