One outstanding team with remarkable knowledge on Global football stands a chance to win Ugx 20 million in the Guinness Football Challenge Quiz competition launched earlier this week.

Guinness Brand officials say the quiz competition which will run simultaneously in 30 bars across the country every Wednesday evening for a period of 10 weeks, will provide platform for football fans to express their knowledge in global football

Launching the exciting Quiz Challenge at Zone 7 on Monday 4th April 2011, Guinness Marketing Manager Innocent Tibayeita said the Guinness Brand has always associated with international Football by engaging fans across the world in fun filled moments as they watch their favorite matches.

“We are hopeful that the Guinness Challenge Quiz will bring excitement to fans of Premier League but at the same time stand chance to win big with Guinness”, he said.

Explaining the mechanics, Tibayeita said consumers will register by purchasing two bottles of Guinness at select bars/outlets. A team constitutes four people who will be required to answer to different questions related to football. For every correct answer a team earns 1 point. Every incorrect answer earns no points.  Teams who participate in the outlets will be required to continue week on week with an aim of attaining 100 points at the end of the ten week challenge. Teams who come out on top per zone will proceed to the finale. There will be ten teams participating at the finale.

Sessions will also be a platform for interaction between key sports reporters, brand officials and other members of the public to have fun and talk football.

“What better way of exposing people’s competitive edge than through a quiz competition, pit teams against each other and see just how well people know their football. This is another way of bringing excitement to the beautiful game of football” Tibayeita concluded.
